Quasonix Awarded Air Force Contract

 

West Chester, OH – Air Force Materiel Command at Eglin Air Force Base has awarded Quasonix, LLC a firm-fixed price contract for telemetry equipment to support the 846th Test Support Squadron. Included in the contract are orders for five 10 Watt Tri-band Telemetry Transmitters, three Tri-band Airborne Receiver/Demodulator/Synchronizers for support of pod interfaces, and six Rack Mount C-band Single Channel RDMS Telemetry Receivers with integral demodulators and bit synchronizers.

According to the award justification, “Quasonix, LLC is the only known manufacturer of this type of telemetry receiver and transmitter components that meet the minimum size and performance requirements of the government. …the hardware, which not only satisfies the requirements set by the 846th TSS, is also compatible with the current hardware suite installed on all 846th aircraft. There are no other commercial off-the-shelf units that meet the governments’ needs.”

The justification continues by noting “Quasonix has the unique distinction of being founded by the inventor of the Advanced Range Telemetry (ARTM) Tier I waveform and they are leading the industry in the deployment of the ARTM Tier I and Tier II waveforms. …These state-of-the-art receivers and transmitters provide four times the flexibility and twice the capability in telemetering for the approximate cost as replacing the existing legacy units.”

The acquisition is part of an ongoing improvement and modernization upgrade to all instrumented aircraft at Eglin that began in 2008.
